I am a woman and I am proud. So proud of what we have and are achieving. We still have a long way to go before there is true equality, however, I am so glad that I live in an age that we as women can be who we are. We can be free.
It’s great that we have a day to celebrate the advancement and achievements of women. To think that women in most nations have only had the right to vote for around 70 years and today women are becoming entrepreneurs at a greater rate than men. We women are wanting something different, something that works for us and our families so we’re creating it. We’re feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
There are still glass ceilings to be broken through, boards for us to sit on and CEOs for us to become. Nevertheless, to the Oprahs and Sheryl Sandbergs, professional, entrepreneurial, working or stay at home mums, I salute you. You see what I really believe each of us want, women as well as men, is a choice. A choice to be and live our life as we choose. A real choice to be a CEO of a ftse or Dow Jones company irrespective of our gender.
To every woman living her choice, I salute you and say ‘Happy Women’s Day’.
Until next time, keep shining.
